Avoid Hearts. Spades and Clubs work normally. Smeared Joker debuffs both Hearts and Diamonds, making the debuff worse.

Group: Card debuffs (Cards keep their hand type but lose scoring abilities)
Counter: Score with Spades or Clubs; Smeared Joker also exposes Diamonds to the debuff.
