All 32 Balatro Vouchers, Ranked

Vouchers are permanent upgrades for the rest of your run. The shop normally offers one per Ante for $10, and buying a base voucher unlocks its upgraded version later. Balatro has 32 in total: 16 base vouchers and 16 upgrades. This page lists every one with its exact effect and a tier ranking.

The top picks give you more room to play. Antimatter adds a joker slot, Grabber and Nacho Tong each add a hand per round, and Palette adds to your hand size. Crystal Ball adds a consumable slot, handy if you hold Tarots or Planets. Hieroglyph and Petroglyph send you back one Ante at the cost of a hand or a discard every round, which buys time for scaling jokers.

Pair vouchers with the right jokers, check which Boss Blinds are ahead, and see which skip tags add an extra voucher to the next shop.

Quick answer

Vouchers are permanent upgrades for the current run, bought in the shop for a base price of $10 each. Normally one is offered per Ante, with a fresh offer after the Boss Blind, and each upgraded Voucher requires its base version first. The highest-ranked picks are Antimatter for an extra Joker slot, Nacho Tong and Grabber for extra hands, and Palette for more cards in hand.

Average-score cutoffs are S at 4.5, A at 3.75, B at 2.9, C at 1.85, and D below that. Items follow the recorded score order, including ties. My only Jokers are Green Joker and Blue Joker. Antimatter is already unlocked, and Blank is in the shop for $10. Buy it with my $14?

BalatroBuddy: Keep the $14. Blank would leave $4 without improving this round, and Antimatter still has to appear in a later shop. With Green Joker and Blue Joker using only 2 of your 5 Joker slots, filling those open slots matters more than paying now for a possible sixth.

Voucher questions

What are the best Vouchers in Balatro?

Antimatter, Nacho Tong, Grabber, and Palette lead the 13-list ranking. Antimatter adds a Joker slot, Nacho Tong and Grabber add hands per round, and Palette increases hand size.

How much do Vouchers cost, and when do they restock?

Every Voucher, including upgrades, has a $10 base price before discounts. Normally one Voucher is offered per Ante, and its slot refreshes after the Boss Blind, not when you reroll the shop. Voucher Tag adds one extra Voucher for purchase in the next shop only.

How do you get upgraded Vouchers?

Each upgrade has a collection unlock requirement, and you must also own its base Voucher in the current run before it can appear. For example, Grabber enables Nacho Tong and Telescope enables Observatory once those upgrades are unlocked. Buying the base does not guarantee when its upgrade will appear.

What does Blank do, and is it worth buying?

Blank has no immediate effect, which is why it ranks C on its own. Buying it 10 times across unseeded, non-challenge runs unlocks Antimatter, but you must still buy Blank in each run where you want Antimatter to appear. It is worth considering when you can spare the money for a possible extra Joker slot later, without sacrificing a needed purchase now.

Do Clearance Sale and Liquidation discounts stack?

Liquidation replaces the 25% discount with 50% off base prices, rather than adding the two discounts. Both affect cards, Booster Packs, and Vouchers and reduce card sell values; prices round to the nearest dollar, halves down, with a $1 minimum for paid items. Neither discounts shop rerolls or Boss Blind rerolls.
